Pastor Robert Rasmus comes to us from Urbana, IL, where he retired after serving 19 years at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Prior to coming to Illinois, Pastor Rasmus served in Orange, TX. 

 

Originally from North Dakota, Pastor Bob received his undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota and his ministry degree from the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago. Prior to ordained ministry, he worked as a journalist and as a congressional press secretary. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served for three years as a medic, and the Army Reserve, where he served as a Chaplain. 

 

Pastor Bob is married to Ann and is dad to Sophie, who will graduate this year from the University of Illinois. 

 

In his spare time, he walks the family dog, Sirius Black (coolest dog name ever!), is restoring a 1978 VW camper bus, competes in triathlons, and has just learned to sail.
