St. Mark’s offers Sunday School classes for children from the age of three through sixth grade. Each week children learn Bible stories, pray together, sing songs, participate in craft projects and activities, and engage in meaningful discussions about their faith. Sunday School classes are led by caring members of St. Mark’s, who have a heart for God and want to share their love for Jesus with the next generation.
Sunday School students are invited to participate in special events throughout the year, including St. Mark’s annual Christmas program and Mother’s Day celebration. Other events include service opportunities within St. Mark’s and our local community. Global missions and outreach opportunities are emphasized throughout the year.
St. Mark’s Sunday school classes are held from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. during the school year.
Older children will love St. Mark’s Cross Trainers program! As part of our Wednesday night programming, students in fifth and sixth grades benefit from creative and engaging Bible-based activities and discussions. Caring leaders encourage students to dig deeper into their faith, and teach them how to apply biblical truths to their everyday lives.
During the school year, Cross Trainers meets on Wednesday nights from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s, and is a valuable stepping stone to prepare our youth for their next faith milestone, the St. Mark’s Confirmation program.
Confirmation encourages the spiritual development of young people in the Church. Seventh- and eighth-graders strengthen their knowledge of the Old and New Testaments, as well as the Lord’s Prayer, Ten Commandments, Apostles’ Creed and church history.Participants learn and develop through the following activities:
- Bible study
- Games, activities and special events
- Service work in the community and within the church
- Wednesday evening fellowship meals from 6:00 to 6:45 p.m., followed by Confirmation programming
- Sunday morning Jr. High Sunday School
Confirmation promotes spiritual growth through a faith that is lived out daily through God’s grace. Young adults enjoy a new level of spiritual maturity, culminating in a public profession of faith.
Vacation Bible School
St. Mark’s offers Vacation Bible School every summer for children three-years-old through fifth grade. VBS is held in early August for St. Mark’s families, friends, and neighbors. VBS is a week-long celebration of God’s love for us and the amazing grace He offers us!
