About

Who We Are

Mission Statement

We proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, with the help of God, through a loving and caring ministry to each other, our communities and the world. Offering the full ministry of Word and Sacrament, we welcome all to strive with us to live daily as disciples of Jesus Christ, to experience the love and peace of God, and to care for the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of all people.

Vision Statement

To be a dynamic and loving church growing in faith and discipleship. We strive to accomplish this through our five Core Values:

Welcoming: We are intentional in inviting and welcoming all ages from all walks of life, wherever people are in their faith journey. We will create friendly and supportive environments for all. Recognizing a variety of life situations, we will encourage everyone to engage in our faith community, providing opportunities to participate in the life and mission of the church and to grow in faith.

Caring Congregation: St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is a loving community, reaching out to others in times of need and celebration, in times of sickness and health, and in times of sadness and joy. This loving community helps to sustain the spiritual, emotional and physical wellness and growth of its members and others throughout their lifespan.

Discipleship: We desire to walk the transformational journey to become fully committed followers of Christ. Guided by the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, we will grow closer to Christ, changing the way we live and interact with God and others.

Mission Oriented: We seek and fully embrace opportunities to serve God in a way that supports and contributes to our community and the world. Our firm and shared commitment to mission is a common thread throughout the church’s many functions.

Purposeful: We are unified and intentional in our programming and decisions in order to focus on the clear priorities set by the congregation in the mission of Jesus Christ. We demonstrate charity of purpose in all that we do, prioritizing the opportunities and needs that come our way.
